Underbart väldoftande, gammaldags trädgårdsväxt. Den blommar under försommaren med violetta blommor. Mot kvällningen i ljumma sommarkvällar sprider sig vågor av en ljuv, lite orkidéliknande doft över trädgården.
Växten är tvåårig men stannar gärna i trädgården eftersom den sprider sig själv. Låt den förvillda sig i ett hörn tillsammans med lupin, borstnejlika och andra gammaldags växter.
Mycket anspråkslös och tålig växt, trivs i de flesta lägen. Blommar året efter sådd.
Direktsådd: Vattna såytan före sådd. Håll sådden fuktig tills fröna grott.
