Sticklingar, små växter och pluggplantor

Även om vi på Wexthuset älskar frösådd är vi också proffs på att odla fram sticklingar.
Det är många gånger fantastiskt med ett snabbspår – att starta odlingen med en färdigrotad liten planta. Det kan också vara enda sättet att få tag på vissa växter som bara kan förökas vegetativt.

Att köpa växter som sticklingar är ett både miljövänligt och prisvärt sätt att få tillgång till odlingsvärda växter. Små plantor har dessutom lättare att acklimatisera sig hemma hos dig än en fullvuxen planta.
Små växter har en snabb tillväxt. De behöver därför planteras om ofta. Ge den lilla plantan en större kruka med lucker, näringsrik jord när den kommer hem till dig. Omplantera sedan varje vår, eller när krukjorden är genomvävd av rötter.
Undvik att sätta en stickling i vatten, rötterna som kommer är inte de samma som utvecklas i jord utan bortskämda så kallade sugrötter.
Om du ska odla vidare dina små växter utomhus behöver plantan vänjas först, så kallad avhärdning. Låt dem först stå ute i skuggan några timmar de första dagarna. Använd en fiberduk som skydd mot solen i början.
