En gammal finsk kulturväxt. Odlades ofta efter att marken svedjats. Roten är plattrund och violett i färgen med en ljus undersida, vissa rötter kan få andra färger.
Saftigt och trådfritt kött, låt inte rovan bli för stor 6-8 cm är lagom. God både rå och tillagad, i gratäng, gryta, ugnsbakad eller till mos.
Förodling: 2-3 v före utplantering.
Så på fuktad såjord. Avhärda före utplantering.
Direktsådd: Vattna i såfåran innan sådd. Håll sådden fuktig.
Täck gärna med fiberduk.
