Vilka baljväxter finns?
Till baljväxterna hör bönor, ärter och linser- edamebönor är sojabönor som skördas omogna i sin skida. Här hittar du frö att odla till olika spännande sorter av bondbönor, sojabönor (edamebönor), brytbönor, vaxbönor, borlottibönor, mungbönor, linser, blomsterböna, brytsockerärt, gråärt, sockerärt och många fler.

Vilka baljväxter är nyttigast?
Baljväxter är lättodlade och ger stora skördar för liten insats. De är de nyttigaste köksväxter vi kan odla. Rika på protein, mineraler, fibrer och vitaminer. Särskilt bondbönor har en extremt hög proteinhalt.
Skörda och äta bönor
De flesta bönor äter man som baljor som skördas innan fröna svällt upp. Skörda kontinuerligt så kommer nya blomskott.
Bondbönor odlar man för bönorna. Superläckra färska! Bönor och ärter är värmeälskande växter som trivs ypperligt att odla i pallkrage och kruka.
Skörda och äta ärtor
Ärter, Pisum sativum, är en svensk kulturväxt som trivs i hela landet. En frisk, lättodlad gröda och barnens favorit eftersom plantan växer snabbt och sockerärterna äts färska som godis. Ju mer man skördar desto fler blomskott lockas fram. Brytsockerärt, eller salladsärta, är en förädling av sockerärtan som blir bulligare och därför ger högre skörd. Kallas sugar snap på engelska.
Luktärter - en släkting
Luktärter kan du odla på samma vis som sina ätliga släktingar, förodla inomhus för tidigare blomning. I Faktabanken kan du läsa om att odla luktärt.
Odlingstips för baljväxter
Så inte för tidigt, då ruttnar fröna och gror aldrig. Kolla gärna med jordtermometer. Baljväxter är en bra gröda i växtföljden eftersom de berikar jorden med kväve. Låt växtresterna vara kvar och myllas ner till hösten.
